While talking to the business community of Pakistan in a seminar named “Interplay of Economy and Security’, arranged by the ISPR, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Jawed Bajwa said that the improved security conditions of Pakistan have paved the way for the economic prosperity of the country. While briefing the business persons and the economic team of the country he said that, “National Security is intimately linked to the economy while prosperity is a function of a balance in security needs and economic growth.”
He added that, “Accessibility and responsiveness of government economic team to the business community and the displayed understanding between public and private institutions is a good sign for the desired positive trajectory in economic activity.”
The economic team also briefed the members regarding the efforts made by the government in facilitating the business community in the country. The business persons also briefed the members regarding the market situation and said that they would play their part in the economic revival of the country. They also assured the government that they would pay their due taxes and comply with every policy of the government.
Response on social media regarding the seminar was not that positive. People were skeptical of the situation that why did the business community request meeting with the COAS instead of meeting the civilian authorities. ISPR commenting on the issue said that the business community tabled their grievances to the economic team of Pakistan in the presence of the COAS.
