According to the notification issued by FBR, a new organizational structure would be set up to deal with international taxation.
FBR, the new offices will be set up in the Federal capital as well as four provincial capitals.
The offices in Islamabad will be for the Director-General on International taxation, and his subordinates, whereas, the offices in the four provincial capitals will be for Director international taxes. One office will be located in Multan to deal with international taxation from South Punjab.
The new offices will work on the taxation of non-residents in coordination with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The offices will also receive financial information about non-residents from other countries under the ‘avoidance of double taxation treaties.’
