Pm Imran Khan Meets Saudi Crown Prince To Facilitate KSA-Iran Relations

PM Imran Khan met with the King of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, and the Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman (MBS). He was on a one-day official visit to KSA on Tuesday 15 of October 2019, to negotiate a truce between the two warring factions of Saudi Arabia and Iran. He had met the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatullah Khamenei and the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani earlier this week. The Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mehmood Qureshi and PM’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari are accompanying the PM on his visit.

PM Imran Khan wanted to act as a facilitator between Tehran and Riyadh. He held talks with the Saudi Crown Prince MBS and they talked about regional security and peace, the relations of KSA and Pakistan, and other important issues. Both the leaders agreed that the conflicts could be resolved through political means. PM Imran said that he wanted peace in the entire region and he wants the wars in the Middle East to come to an end. He said that the only way forward for these conflicts is political negotiations.

The PM is visiting KSA two days after his official tour to Iran, in which he met the top leadership of Iran and offered to help as a facilitator. The Iranian Supreme Leader said that Pakistan is a brotherly neighbor country.PM decided to act as a facilitator between Iran and the US too and said that he would discuss the issues with the US President Donald Trump to improve the US-Iran relations.
