PM Imran Khan in a meeting in the PM Office (PMO) directed the concerned authorities in Punjab and KPK to form a plan for ensuring the stability of prices of essential commodities. The PM said that the common person should not have to face any burden and steps should be taken to facilitate them as much as possible. He also directed the authorities to act against personal trying to create their monopoly over the market and advised the authorities to use technological means for implementing such plans. He said that the people should be updated regularly about the prices of fruits and vegetables and special committees should be set-up to ensure price control and for curbing monopoly of intermediaries. He also directed the authorities to investigate the auction of fruits and vegetables to ensure that the farmers are being paid their due profit. PM also said that a proposal for providing rations of essential commodities to the poor class is also under consideration.
The meeting was attended by CM Punjab Usman Buzdar, CM KPK Mahmood Khan, Firdous Ashiq Awan and other senior government officials.
